Discover
Scuba

The PADI Discover Scuba Diving course allows you to experience the basics of scuba. Your dive instructor will go over basic concepts and scuba skills that will be helpful should you decide to pursue an Open Water Dive Certification course. It starts with an approximately 30 minute video that reviews the different hand signals used for communication underwater and how to use the dive equipment. From that point, you will engage in a shallow dive, approximately chest deep, where the instructor will guide you, demonstrating how to proceed and explaining the purposes of various pieces of equipment. After completing all the physical training at a depth of around 4-5 feet, you will move on to a one-tank dive in depths between 20-30 feet. This course does not certify you to dive in the open sea. No prior scuba diving experience is necessary, but you need to be in good physical health. Candidates must be 10+ years old.

Open Water
Referral Course

Our Open Water Referral course allows you to complete your dive training in distinct segments. First, candidates who are enrolled in an Open Water Referral course will complete all theory and confined water dives at home with their local dive center. Candidates must have a signed referral form from previous dive instructors or dive centers. Execute the practical portion of your Open Water Referral course with us at Manta Island Resort where you will do four open water dives consisting of 2-two tank dives per day on Glover’s Reef with one of our PADI dive instructors. The Open Water Referral Course lasts a minimum of two days. Candidates must be 10+ years old with no adverse medical conditions to participate in Open Water Referral course.
Important: Please bring your PADI course documentation and PADI pool work, as well as your medical release form with you to Manta Island! Kindly note: if you bring SSI or NAUI paperwork there will be an additional per person fee for completing a crossover exam and pool skills test.
